The recordings of the resonating lighthouse and radio masts and wires were made during summer gales on Skomvær Island in 2022 and 2023.

Røst AiR is a non-profit, multi-disciplinary, artist-in-residence, and artist-run association based on Røst and Skomvær Lighthouse, 67°North. Røst is part of the Lofot-Láfot mountain range and is situated within the county of Nordland: simultaneously Sábme and Northern Norway. The Røst archipelago has more than 356 islands, islets, and skerries, and among them is Nykan nature reserve, the sea bird mountains, home to one of Northern Europe’s largest pelagic seabird colonies. Nykan Reserve has been experiencing steep declines due to climate change and heating oceans, pollution, and historical overfishing. Røst AIR is currently run by artists Elin Már Øyen Vister and Magdaléna Manderlová.
