Clara de Asís

Clara de Asís is a Spanish composer and performer who explores the nexus of acoustics, spatiality, alternative notation and the phenomenology of attention.

Her work focus on sound perception, developing declinations of growing complexity without losing a surface simplicity. She incorporates electronics to idiosyncratic combinations of diverse materials and found objects. Her compositions, mostly for small ensembles and in collaborative settings, juxtapose structural precision to areas of indeterminacy, drawing from an interest on timbral research, intonation and the junction of rational and intuitive systems.

She has created a wide variety of works in collaboration with other artists and ensembles, and performs extensively across Europe. She also co-runs the independent publishing platform Discreet Editions.
