Ximena Bedoya

Ximena Bedoya, originally from Perú, is an interdisciplinary artist based in New York. Her current practice explores the interconnections between sound, film and sculptural objects. She works with electronics, field recordings, voice and handmade wind/water instruments to develop compositions that speak to a particular frame of reference on the concepts of impermanence, chance, memory and the complications of language, from the act of listening to the moment of speech delivery.

She co-founded Lobby Art Editions, a record label focused on a variety of sonic approaches while expanding into non-musical objects and other visual mediums.

Bedoya holds a BFA in Industrial Design and Visual Arts from PUCP and an MFA in Applied Craft and Design from The Pacific Northwest College of Art.
